Summer’s Tales

IMG_0538In a garden set in sin,
that is where I will begin.
All the flowers left bereft,
silence is a sort of theft.
Down to the daughter’s work and toil,
hopeless loves whose air dost spoil.
(All fairy tales that lack a father
must make that a constant bother!)
Still, weeds will grow and even flower-
all good things do have their hour.
Like a tale by Dinesen,
we’ll be our own best heroines.

JA/2013 with inspiration from Isak Dinesen’s (Karen Blixen) Ehrengard and Winter’s Tales
